What No Eye Has Seen 2023 — Appointed Times In Your Spiritual Life: Night 4 - Bishop Dag Heward Mills

A Time For Your Best

I believe there is a time for everything in the realm of the spirit. When the appointed time comes, certain things must occur.

“Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.“

Genesis 18:14

There is a time for everything in the spirit. There is a time to enter into the world. That time determines who your friends will be. Elizabeth waited for many years to become pregnant, but John the Baptist needed to be born around the same time Jesus was born, so that they could be friends. John the Baptist was destined to be a forerunner of Jesus, so his birth had to be delayed. Elizabeth was an old lady when John the Baptist was born, but that was the correct spiritual time for his birth.

There is a spiritual time when you are supposed to enter the world and have certain relationships based on the appointed time of your birth. There are some people who need to be older than you, so that you relate to them in a particular way. There are people who have to be the same age as you and there are people who have to be younger than you. You are your current age because there are things you have to do and people you have to know and relate with during this time. The Bible says,

“God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

Hebrews 11:40

There are people God wants you to interact with whom you wouldn’t have known if you were born much earlier or later. You were supernaturally brought into this world at an appointed time.

There is also a time of your death.

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.”

2 Timothy 4:6

There is a time to die. A time will come God will remove you from this world. No one will be here forever. The Word says,

“This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more”

Numbers 8:24-25

Jesus was around 30 years old when He became anointed. Young people are a prime target for the anointing, especially those between the ages of 25 and 50. That’s not to say that those who are 50 and older can’t be anointed, but God is very interested in youth. You must consider and prepare for eternity.

One day as I spoke with a young man who was about to embark on a mission, I gave him advice while under the anointing. I told him to always think of death and he’d be a wise man. People who think of death and eternity are very wise. The thought of eternity causes you to stop quarreling with your spouse because eternity is coming. You realize that when you say goodbye to someone, it could be your last encounter with that person.

When your mind is set on eternity, you carefully consider what you do every day. What should you do with your time left on earth? What if you only have 10 years left? There’s no achievement that I haven’t already fulfilled by the grace of God. All that’s left for me to do is God’s will. Think about eternity and let it make you wise in the spirit.

Many years ago, I was driving to the northern region of Ghana. We were nearing the end of our journey and I told those driving with me that we would arrive at our destination in 30 minutes. Not five minutes after speaking those words, my car was engaged in somersaults. We turned over and around and ended up about 100 feet from the road in the bush. The car was turned on its side with smoke and fire coming from the engine. All the doors were jammed. All five of us should have died that day. We escaped through a small sunroof, one at a time. I still have a small scar as a memento of the occasion.

From that time on, I realized God can decide my time is up at any moment. He can call me to come off the field. I pray God grants you wisdom on how to live your life, knowing that there is a fixed time for your life on earth.

Some things are meant to remain as mysteries to us. God could decide your time on earth is up after 30 years. John the Baptist and Jesus lived to be 33 years old. God decided that was enough. When God said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased,” Jesus hadn’t preached a single sermon. He had not started a charity or saved a single soul. So why was God so pleased? Humility. When Jesus bowed down and humbled Himself to be baptized by John the Baptist, it touched the Father’s heart. May you have a good spirit of humility in Jesus’ name. A humble spirit is enough to provoke the approval of God.

Many years ago, I had a vision. In this vision I was visited by two pastors who had died several years ago. When I asked them what they were doing here, they said they had returned to visit the works they accomplished while they were alive. After they had traveled around town, they came back to eat dinner with me before returning to heaven. They shared three things with me. The first thing they told me was that when they returned to revisit their works, their messages and songs were no longer received. They were considered old-fashioned and people weren’t interested. The second thing they told me was that they were very surprised by their death. They never expected to die when they did. Lastly, they told me that I was living in my best time. They implored me to give my best now because when my time on earth ends I won’t be able to add to my works.

Most people aren’t expecting their time on earth to come to an end. I encourage you to give your very best. Now is your best time to do what you want to do, to give what you want to give, to work hard, and to work long. A time will come when you will be unable to work.

The pandemic was a prophetic warning to the world of what is to come. It was an announcement of the kind of things that are about to fall on the earth. The pandemic was completely unexpected, even by the church, but it was a foretaste of the birth pains that are to come. As birth draws near, the time between birth pains gets shorter and shorter.

The greatest effect of the pandemic was to show us that there will be a time when “the night cometh when no man can work.” The night may be in the form of a pandemic, or of sickness, or of a limitation you didn’t expect. The Holy Spirit is telling you to gird up your loins and give your best now! Preach your best, travel the most, give what you want to give, do what you want to do because the night is coming.

A Time For Your Maturity

“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.”

Hebrews 5:12

There is a time when you ought to become a teacher. You cannot sit in church and receive messages your whole life. That will make you critical. I was 25 years old when the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “From today, you can teach.”

“And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.”

Ezekiel 2:2

When God speaks to you, the Spirit enters. That’s why you can become anointed by listening to preaching.

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.”

Acts 10:44

The Spirit fell on those who heard the Word, not on those who slept. The Spirit is the anointing. The Holy Spirit came to me while I was listening to Kenneth Hagin and I heard an audible voice tell me I could teach and I’m still teaching till this day.

We are in a time when the church will be filled with an army of teachers who will teach men of God. The anointing to teach will fall upon many in the church. The anointing to teach enables you to explain scriptures people have already read and may be familiar with. This anointing stirs up a kind of power. It’s not through shouting or simply repeating words. It yields a power to draw people in and it’s different from the way a school teacher lectures in a class. A school teacher cannot do what anointed teachers do.

In 1988, God gave me an anointing to teach, to stand in a church and teach, to stand at a conference and teach, to stand in a small group and teach them. I pray you receive that grace for the teaching anointing.

A Time For Your Anointing

“To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.”

Acts 1:3-4

There is a time when the promise of the Father will arrive. There is a time for visitation. Believe that now is your time. As God blesses Revival Today Church and visits this church, He will visit you also.

A Time For Your Enlargement

“And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

Revelation 14:15

There is a time for you to reap. God is enlightening you to reap. Your pastor has sown seeds of millions in ministers' lives.

“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”

Luke 16:16

There are people in your life who serve as signals for the end of something. John was a signal that the law and prophets were finished. From then on, the entrance of a new time began — the time for the kingdom of God to be preached.

Certain men entered my life and marked the end of a season and the beginning of a new season. Pay close attention to those who leave and enter your life. It often signifies the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.

Press in to enter your time of enlargement. If you want to see the hand of God move in your life, you must press to enter. I believe now is your time. You must pursue, press, and enter, in Jesus name!

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There are appointed times in every person’s spiritual life. I pray God gives you the discernment and grace to perceive His perfect timing in your life.
