What No Eye Has Seen 2023: Day 2 - Dr. Rodney Howard Browne
Disclaimer: This article is the best attempt to capture the wisdom and knowledge delivered during this inaugural camp meeting. It's a literal impossibility to put into words the anointing contained in this message and in the ones that will proceed it. It's written to inspire you to click the link at the end of the article, tune into the broadcast and receive as much as you can through listening to the full Word of God that was preached. God Bless you!
“But as it is written, eye have not seen nor ear heard not have ended the on demand the things which God has prepared for them that love him.”
That’s the favorite scripture of most people in mainstream denominations. Most of those people will spend their whole lives unable to see or hear. They’ll talk about what eyes saw and heard in Bible days, but they don’t experience anything. I don’t say that to demean any denomination. Jesus never put everything He’s done into one group or denomination.
“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”
We all come in the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God. However, a mature person is someone that produces.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
You have to realize what is on the inside of you. It operates by faith. He's with you now, but He's going to be in you and out of your innermost being will flow forth rivers of living water. You won’t always feel it operating and flowing inside of you like a river, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Some days you may wake up and the last thing you feel like is a river. Some days you may wake up feeling like a swamp, you many even look like one too! That means absolutely nothing. If I’m being completely honest, there are days that I don’t feel anything. If I went by what I feel, I wouldn’t even get out of bed. I’d call the mortuary.
You can’t base anything on feelings. You walk by faith. You stir yourself up in the things of God and operate by faith. You must believe God will show up and expect miracles on Monday. Expect the supernatural on Tuesday. Expect the glory of God on Wednesday. Expect the wind of heaven on Thursday. Expect the rain of heaven to come down on Friday. Expect the fresh oil from heaven on Saturday. Every day there should be an expectation of God’s grace to accomplish what He’s called you to do. God never stops moving.
“ But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.”
God has shown them unto us by his Spirit. Everything He shows is always based on the Word, not somebody's theory. Theory is a supposition based on the ignorance of the subject under discussion. Everyone always thinks they have a theory. If it’s not the Word, it doesn’t work.
I want you to read this scripture again in the Amplified.
“But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God.”
Two things. First, there are certain things that remain hidden beyond the scrutiny of men.
Secondly, the gifts of divine favor and blessing have already been given to you.
It was done through Calvary.
It was done through the cross.
It was done through the resurrection.
It was done through Pentecost.
It's already done.
He doesn't have to come back and do it again. He doesn't have to hang on the cross another time. He doesn't have to come back so the veil of the temple can be torn again. He doesn't have to return so there can be another upper room. The first upper room still works. The first upper room is still in effect. The first outpouring of Pentecost is still in the earth today. You just have to receive it for the first time. Once you do, you'll be carried by the outpouring of the Spirit of God. He pours His Spirit out, to pour into your spirit, to pour your spirit out. It all rests upon a vessel, a man or a woman of God, that will totally yield themself to the Lord. Then God fills them up and they are sent to be poured out to a lost and dying world. That's how it works.
“And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit]. But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.”
Your IQ and intellect doesn’t matter. They’re worthless when it comes to the things of God. You cannot grasp these things with your mind. It comes to the heart of an individual who’s hungry and thirsty.
“But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].”
As a person full of the Holy Ghost, you will always remain a mystery to people. They will always try to decipher and discern what it is about you that’s different. Many will come around and they think they know you, but they don't know you.
Whoever you are, don't attend a dead church. It doesn’t matter where you grew up. You have to be around the anointing. It would behoove you to move to wherever the anointing is and plugin.
If you’re a pastor, you better get the anointing, no matter what it takes. Do what needs to be done to get the anointing and put that anointing in your church. That doesn’t mean you have to have people falling on the ground rolling around every Sunday. It means you need to receive a fresh work from heaven and speak only what God tells you to say. Strip away anything that’s of the flesh or anything you’ve picked up by association. You begin to adopt certain things into your ministry based on who you associate with.
The power of God is free. It comes to the hungry. It comes to the humble and to the thirsty. Come and eat. Come and drink the living water. Come and drink the new wine. Come and have your head anointed with oil and your cup filled with the top to overflowing.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
“Wait and listen, everyone who is thirsty! Come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Yes, come, buy [priceless, spiritual] wine and milk without money and without price [simply for the self-surrender that accepts the blessing]. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your earnings for what does not satisfy? Hearken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness [the profuseness of spiritual joy]. Incline your ear [submit and consent to the divine will] and come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant or league with you, even the sure mercy (kindness, goodwill, and compassion) promised to David.”
The anointing is free. You can’t earn it. It's not based on your reputation. Many believers think that although God knows what they’ve done, He only touches certain people. God is not touching people based on what they've done. He's touching people based on what Jesus does. God's not touching people based on how well they’ve earned it. You can’t earn what He has already so freely granted unto us.
God is looking for people He can show Himself strong on their behalf. How do you think He found me in Africa? I was just an African boy crying out to God.
“Lord, I want to be used of you. Lord, I want to do what you want me to do. I'll go where you want me to go. Lord, I’ll say what you want me to say. Lord, I’ll be what you want me to be. Not my will, but Thine be done. I'm yours.”
You have to cry out to Him. He will come and find you. Something happens when He comes and touches you. Something takes place. You step out of the realm of the natural and into the realm of the supernatural.
I will tell you this, you're not going to fit in every place. People will classify you as a strange person, as some odd ball. I was classified that way before the anointing ever came upon me.
If you're looking for fame or fortune, you don't want the anointing. You don't want the Holy Ghost because you'll lose your reputation. If you ever had one, or you thought you did, you'll end up losing it. But Jesus said,
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.”
We lay our life upon the altar. If you're hungry for God, He will come find you and touch you.
“For Christ (the Messiah) sent me out not to baptize but [to evangelize by] preaching the glad tidings (the Gospel), and that not with verbal eloquence, lest the cross of Christ should be deprived of force and emptied of its power and rendered vain (fruitless, void of value, and of no effect).”
I had an interaction with an individual who is taught from the Southern Baptist Convention and is a heavy Calvinist. He doesn't believe that miracles, signs and wonders, and the outpouring of the Spirit can still happen today. He greatly opposed me years ago. He reached out to me during the covid chaos. He realized that I understood what was taking place more than all of the other Christian leaders put together. I didn’t understand why he called me, but he told me it was because I knew what was happening.
He attended several meetings and brought many others that were of the same belief as him. As they all watched what was happening in the meetings, tears came streaming down his face. After one of the meetings we went to the back room and he told me about how he’s studied everything that occurred during The Great Awakenings of previous generations. He looked at me and said, “You’ve got it. You have the fire of The Great Awakening.” He continued, “When you preach, you don't preach like others do, with eloquent words that most can’t decipher.”
So I asked him what he felt was the problem with the current preaching in America. He said, “They have a microphone, and with a microphone, they stay in a controlled atmosphere. So when they speak they never have to raise their voice.”
In other words, there’s nothing coming from them. They pray a prayer and preach a message without ever engaging the people who are sitting right in front of them. They never talk to anyone, never look at anyone or walk around. They just preach above the heads of people. At the end of the message there’s no demonstration. God isn’t given the opportunity to confirm anything that was preached. If there’s fire on the inside of you, it needs to be released.
The cross of Christ is brought to nothing because of eloquence.
“For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God. For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever and the discernment of the discerning; I will frustrate and nullify [them] and bring [them] to nothing. Where is the wise man (the philosopher)? Where is the scribe (the scholar)? Where is the investigator (the logician, the debater) of this present time and age? Has not God shown up the nonsense and the folly of this world’s Wisdom? For when the world with all its earthly wisdom failed to perceive and recognize and know God by means of its own philosophy, God in His wisdom was pleased through the foolishness of preaching [salvation, procured by Christ and to be had through Him], to save those who believed (who clung to and trusted in and relied on Him). For while Jews [demandingly] ask for signs and miracles and Greeks pursue philosophy and wisdom, We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense. But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God. [This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men. For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth. [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame. And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are, So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God. But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin]. So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord.”
“As for myself, brethren, when I came to you, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony and evidence or mystery and secret of God [concerning what He has done through Christ for the salvation of men] in lofty words of eloquence or human philosophy and wisdom; For I resolved to know nothing (to be acquainted with nothing, to make a display of the knowledge of nothing, and to be conscious of nothing) among you except Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and Him crucified. And I was in (passed into a state of) weakness and fear (dread) and great trembling [after I had come] among you. And my language and my message were not set forth in persuasive (enticing and plausible) words of wisdom, but they were in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit and power a proof by the Spirit and power of God, operating on me and stirring in the minds of my hearers the most holy emotions and thus persuading them], So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men (human philosophy), but in the power of God.”
That was the hope for the early church, and that’s still the hope for the latter church today. Let God’s Word be true and let every man be a liar. We will not back down and we will never compromise to become accepted in the circles of men. If it means we are never invited to certain places or if it means that certain pulpits are off limits to us, then so be it!
We will stand in the street. We will stand in the markets. We will preach. We will lift up our voices and we will proclaim that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday. today, and forever! He never changes.
We will lift our voice like a mighty trumpet and we will sound the alarm. We will announce to the world that He saves. We will announce the world that He heals, that He delivers, that he sets the captives free. We will announce to the world that He still does what He did in Bible days. The days of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and the Book of Acts are still in the earth today. He is still moving by the Spirit.
Not only shall we announce to those that are without, but we shall display to those that are without, the very manifestation of the power of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. They will see that He lives in you and He lives big on the inside of you. He shows up BIG on the inside of you, and it will be clear to everyone that you’re used of Him.
I’m still totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit. If I were to go one day without His hand upon me, I’d be in trouble. It doesn't matter what successes we've had in the ministry, we're totally dependent upon Him. I never want to come to a place where we are dependent upon ourselves.
Every single day when you wake up in the morning, depend on Him. Don’t depend on what you have, or on your degrees, your certificates, your achievements. Don’t depend on the money you have in your bank account because it could all be gone overnight.
He is the vine. We are the branches. We draw our life from Him.
“If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.”
If there's no fruit coming from you it's impossible to claim that you are a disciple of Jesus Christ. If you follow Him, and He lives on the inside of you, fruit shall be made manifest. Everywhere you go, you will expect fruit to be produced every day of your life.
The moment you plug into heaven and the anointing, you'll never lack again. You shall never ever lack resources ever again for the rest of your life. Your ministry, your church, your business, your family will never know lack. Some of you don’t know lack, but you always worry about lack. May God remove the worry about lack from you.The Lord is my shepherd. You shall not want.
Don't worry about whether it looks like the money is in your bank account or not. It’s in His account. We're not here to impress anybody. We’re here to set a standard and roll it out for the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
